As a member of the SOFI CDT cohort you will be welcomed into an environment where you will be inspired by world leaders in the SOFI field.nnIn the SOFI CDT there are around 50 potential PhD supervisors from the three universities (Durham University, University of Edinburgh and the University of Leeds) in departments of Chemistry, Food Science, Physics, Engineering, Computing, (Applied) Mathematics and Durham Business School.
View a list of projects that we anticipate being available for students starting in September 2022 as well as the projects that have been offered in recent years. This list will be added to over the course of the year once we know the research interests of the incoming students.
The SOFI CDT is formed by the three universities: Durham University, University of Edinburgh and the University of Leeds in a global consortium with industrial partners, major research facilities and international universities and institutes.nn
When you join SOFI CDT, you join a community of distinguished scientists in academia and industry. The first 6-months are quite intense so naturally, the cohort becomes a close group of friends and colleagues working on Soft Matter research themes.
